Artwords is a playful, interactive web-based game developed by DEPT’s Family and Games division to showcase creative AI integration in a fun and accessible way. The game features a quirky cartoon fridge character named “Fridgeo”, who responds to player input in a unique artistic fashion.

Players are presented with a collection of fridge magnet letters, which they rearrange into a 4–5 letter word. Once submitted, Fridgeo “eats” the word, then generates a whimsical illustration of the word using an AI-powered drawing system. Each new word builds on the last—Fridgeo’s evolving drawings cleverly integrate previous submissions, creating increasingly unexpected and surreal visual compositions.

My role included designing, illustrating and animating the Fridgeo character, crafting the game’s cartoon aesthetic, and supporting Unity development. This project was a fun exploration of how human creativity and AI can playfully collaborate.
